Eggnog. Love it or hate it, it’s a sugar-and-cream holiday classic — festive with nutmeg, but heavy (about 170 calories per half cup). I wanted the flavor without the calorie hit, so I swapped in Blue Diamond’s almond–cashew blend. Cashew adds the creaminess, almond cuts calories and keeps it breakfast-friendly. Same cozy taste, fewer calories. Cheers.

This High Protein Eggnog Smoothie is a healthy recipe to start off the holidays, or any day. A festive vegetarian and gluten-free breakfast on the go!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup Blue Diamond Almondmilk / Cashewmilk Blend

  • 1 banana, peeled and frozen

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

  • ¼ cup pasteurized liquid egg substitute

  • 1 teaspoon rum flavoring

  • nutmeg

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a blender, add milk, banana, protein powder, egg substitute, and rum flavoring.

  2. Blend on high for 30 seconds, or until mixture is thoroughly combined.

  3. Pour into serving glass, and top with a dash of nutmeg.
